AI Campus terms of use
Effective date: 11 October 2026
These are the terms on which you may play AI Campus, a game by Quarter Cut Studio. They cover the Steam edition and the free editions for iPhone, iPad and Android. They are short on purpose. By installing or playing the game you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not play.
1. Who the agreement is between
The agreement is between you and Quarter Cut Studio ([OWNER: the legal name and legal form of the person or company that trades as Quarter Cut Studio]), [OWNER: postal address]. You can reach us at support@quartercutstudio.com.
You get the game through a shop: Steam, the App Store or Google Play. The shop's own terms apply to your use of the shop and to your payments there:
- Steam: the Steam Subscriber Agreement.
- App Store: the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Apple's standard licence for apps (the Licensed Application End User License Agreement) also applies, unless these terms are shown in the App Store as the game's own licence agreement. Section 11 applies either way.
- Google Play: the Google Play Terms of Service.
Where a shop's terms and these terms say different things about the shop's own service, the shop's terms come first.
2. Your licence to play
The game is licensed to you, not sold. As long as you keep to these terms, you may install it and play it, for your own enjoyment and not for business, on devices you own or control, as the rules of the shop you got it from allow.
You may not:
- copy, sell, rent or pass on the game, or put it where others can download it;
- take it apart or rebuild it from its code, except where the law gives you that right whatever a licence says;
- remove or hide our name, the game's name or any notice in it;
- get things that are sold in the game without paying for them, or help others to;
- use the game to break the law.
The game, its name, its logo, its art, its music and its code belong to Quarter Cut Studio. These terms give you no right to them beyond the licence above.
3. Your saved game
The game has no accounts and no server of ours. Your campus is saved on your own device, and nowhere else that we can reach.
- We cannot restore a saved game. We have no copy of it. If it is lost, it is gone, and so is everything in it, including what you bought.
- A saved game on a phone follows that phone. It moves to a new phone through the phone's own backup or transfer (iCloud, Google backup), if you have that switched on. On a computer it can follow you through Steam Cloud, if that is switched on for the game.
- A saved game does not move between an iPhone and an Android phone, or between a phone and Steam. It does not move from one phone to another phone that is already in use.
- Uninstalling the game from a phone deletes the saved game on that phone.
- A saved game made by a newer version of the game cannot be opened by an older version. The game then asks you to update, and does not start until you do.
Looking after backups is up to you.
4. Chips and other things in the game
The game has things you earn or buy in it: chips, credits, parts, permits, medals, decorations, the season pass and what the starter bundle holds.
- They have no cash value. They are part of the game and can be used only in it.
- They are not your property. You get a licence to use them in the game, on the same terms as the game itself.
- They cannot be exchanged for money, sold, or given or moved to another player.
- They live in your saved game (see section 3).
- We may change what things cost, pay or do in the game when we update it.
5. Purchases on the phones
The Steam edition sells nothing inside the game. On iPhone, iPad and Android you can buy packs of chips, a season pass and a starter bundle. Nothing in the game has to be bought to progress.
- Who sells. The purchase is made with the App Store or Google Play, at the price the shop shows you, in your currency. The shop takes the payment.
- Chips and the starter bundle are added to your saved game as soon as the purchase is paid for. If the game closes in the middle of a purchase, or the payment is approved later, they are added the next time the game starts. The starter bundle is offered once for each saved game.
- The season pass opens the pass row of the season that is running when you buy it. A season is four calendar weeks, the same four for every player, so a pass bought late in a season covers only what is left of it. The pass ends with its season. It does not renew by itself and nothing is charged again; you buy a new one for the next season if you want it. If you buy a pass that cannot be used, because your campus is below level 20 or the pass row is already open, the game gives you 140 chips instead.
- Purchases are final. They cannot be returned or refunded, except where the law gives you that right or the shop's own refund rules allow it. Refunds are asked for from the shop you bought from: https://reportaproblem.apple.com/ for the App Store, and your order history for Google Play. If you get stuck, write to us with your order number.
- A right to change your mind. In some countries, the European Union and the United Kingdom among them, you may have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase made at a distance. For digital content that right can end once delivery has begun with your agreement, and what you buy here is delivered to your game at once. The shop tells you how this applies when you buy.
- Purchases stay where they were made. What you buy goes into the saved game on the device you bought it on. It does not carry over to another platform, and it reaches another device of the same kind only together with the saved game (see section 3), unless the shop itself restores it for you. If the saved game is lost, what you bought is lost with it, and we cannot put it back, because we hold no record of your campus.
- If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, ask a parent or guardian before you buy anything.
On Steam you buy the game itself, once, from Valve. Refunds for it follow Steam's refund rules.
6. Ads on the phones
The phone editions offer rewarded ads: you choose to watch one, and get something in the game for it.
- An ad pays only if it is watched to the end. The game allows a limited number each day.
- The ads are provided by Google AdMob. We do not choose them and are not responsible for what advertisers say or sell.
- An ad may not always be available.
How ads use data is in the privacy policy.
7. Changes to the game
We may update the game, change its numbers, add or remove features, or stop offering it. We do not promise that any feature will stay, or that new ones will come. The game runs on your own device, and a version you have installed does not depend on any server of ours.
8. No warranty
We make the game with care, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it will be free of faults, that it will run without interruption, or that a saved game cannot be lost.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights the law gives you as a consumer and that cannot be signed away, such as your rights when digital content is faulty.
9. Our liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect loss, or for the loss of a saved game or of anything in it;
- our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for the game and inside it in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for deliberate or grossly negligent harm, or for anything else the law does not let us limit.
10. Ending
You can end this agreement at any time by deleting the game. Your licence ends by itself if you break these terms; you must then stop playing and delete the game. Sections 4, 8, 9 and 12 carry on afterwards.
11. If you got the game from the App Store
Apple asks us to say the following, and you agree to it:
- These terms are between you and Quarter Cut Studio, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the game and what is in it.
- Your licence is to use the game on Apple devices that you own or control, as the App Store's usage rules allow.
- Apple has no duty to maintain or support the game.
- If the game fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund what you paid for the game, if anything. Apple has no other warranty duty for the game.
- We, not Apple, deal with any claim you or anyone else has about the game, including product liability claims, claims that it breaks a law, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- If someone claims that the game infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with that claim.
- You confirm that you are not in a country under a United States government embargo or named by it as supporting terrorism, and that you are on no United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
12. Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of [OWNER: the country or state whose law governs these terms], and its courts decide disputes about them ([OWNER: the place of the courts, if you want to name one]).
If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.
13. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The new version is published on this page with a new effective date, and applies from that date to your further play.
